Modded Asciiware 6-Button Arcade Stick for Vectrex
The arcade stick form factor is more like the original Vectrex controller in layout and orientation.
This is an Asciiware arcade stick originally for use with the Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo modified to
work with the Vectrex. Each
controller is then carefully cleaned and tested before reassembly to
guarantee 100% awesome gaming control.
Button one is mapped to the L, X and R buttons and buttons 2, 3 and 4 are mapped to buttons Y, B and A, respectively. It's a nice, solid stick that doesn't take up as much room on the table as the Sega models.
Please note: Controller may be black OR gray.
We select the best controllers for our Vectrex conversions, but it is possible that the controller may show minor cosmetic wear.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will this controller still work with the Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo consoles?
No. Once the controller has been modified for use with the Vectrex, it is no longer usable on its original console.
Can the button mappings be changed?
The buttons on the stick are always mapped to the same Vectrex buttons. See the button mapping image for details.
Are the start button, select button or turbo select switches used?
No, these controls are non-functional on the modded controller.
Are there any Vectrex games that will not work with the modified controller?
There are two original Vectrex games that require the original analog joystick: Hyperchase (all variations) and Starhawk (game variation 2). There may be some homebrew games that also require analog control. All other games will work with the adapted Genesis controller.
